If you interview a dog trainer or dog behaviorist and ask what they do when a dog jumps on them, and the trainer says, “turn your back” and “ignore the dog”, do not work with this trainer. The body language of turning your back is being subservient and allowing the dog to take control. Dog obedience training must make sense to the dog's logic.
If your dog trainer says their training method used is all positive reinforcement, do not work with the trainer. Strong minded, stubborn dogs will not cooperate with you because you spoil the dog with a treat or give the dog a time-out in a crate. Dogs don’t understand avoidance as a learning exercise. The problem will still exist when the dog is out of the crate.
The fact we use a leash to hold the dog in place is a form of forced training. Non harmful methods that do not injure the dog is best humane practices.
Dog trainer or dog behaviorist communication is not hit and miss conditioning, but an innate teaching method. Balanced training the dog must have a direct relationship with the handler. Only with a strong relationship can you have successful dog obedience training.
The innate reaction and response on the part of the dog, must be duplicated by the handler as dogs understand, not by human logic. When a shock collar, food/treat, spray bottle or noise is used for a positive or negative reinforcement, the dog is responding to something other than the handler.
This is not innate in dogs and will separate the dog from a direct communication with the handler. This is the exact opposite of what you want to achieve for maximum safety and reliability for your dog.
A dog's ability to learn wanted behaviors depends on the communication from the owner. I combine fun play with toys, sport exercises, body language and voice tones to teach. Dogs learn best when they are not humanized. Understanding what motivates a dog to learn. Learning is instinctual and built into the dog's genetics as a dog. When humans train dogs like baby humans this is a narcissistic approach to please human emotions and feelings.
Training techniques are customized to the dog's personality, breed, health, age and size. Every dog is unique in personality. However, every dog breed thinks like a dog. My training is made simple and affective. I guarantee my training and knowledge to be the most affective for your dog breed. A good dog behaviorist or dog trainer will balance dog obedience training with more love, fun and affection 70% ratio to the 30% correction.
Science has proven treat feeding to be ineffective compared to loving praise.
Believe your eyes not other people's emotions and feelings. Praise & fun games used to train police dogs.
If you have been told to euthanize your dog by a behaviorist, veterinarians or dog trainers let me prove them wrong. Most professionals do not understand dog behavior or dog obedience training.
